Special: Footvolley auf Puravida
About 45 years ago, in a round 1963; footvolley was born at the world famous Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The game began as a training exercise for soccer players by juggling the ball over soccer goals on the beach.
Legend goes that the players one day decided to use volleyball net and just that footvolley was born! Footvolley became habitual, players showed up every Saturday and Sunday morning and would play till around 1:00 pm. Games were played alongside curious fans, jolly samba bands, beach goers; and wages were made on ice cold choppe (beer), churrasco, and the religious Sunday feijoada.
